Für unser zweites Kolloquium, “Performance Conservation: Interdisciplinary Perspectives,” entwickelte die Künstlerin Gisela Hochuli eine neue Performance, In Strange Hands II (2022). Im Anschluss an ihre Performance In Strange Hands (2021), die sie bei unserem ersten Kolloquium gezeigt hatte, bat Hochuli das Publikum um Performance-Anweisungen oder Partituren, die sie dann live interpretierte. For our second annual colloquium, “Performance Conservation: Interdisciplinary Perspectives,” artist Gisela Hochuli developed a new performance called In Strange Hands II. A follow-up to her performance at our first colloquium, In Strange Hands (2021), for this piece, Hochuli solicited performance instructions or event scores from the audience, which she then interpreted live. PCMK team members Emilie Magnin, Hanna Hölling, and Jules Pelta Feldman spoke with Hochuli to learn more about the genesis of this piece, the artist’s approach to collaborative performance, and her thoughts about the future of her work.
